| Black Student Union | LaDawn Johnson | ladawn.johnson@puhsd.org | The purpose of a Black Student Union (BSU) club in high school is to create a supportive, educational, and empowering space for Black students and allies. While each school’s BSU might have unique goals, common purposes include: Key Purposes of a BSU: Cultural Awareness & Education Celebrate and promote awareness of Black history, culture, and contributions. Educate the school community about issues affecting the Black community. Community & Belonging Provide a safe and inclusive environment where Black students feel supported and represented.
